“You can search throughout the entire universe for someone who is more deserving of your love and affection than you are yourself, and that person is not to be found anywhere. You, yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection” – Buddha

Imagine you had a friend. This friend is always around and they constantly comment negatively on everything you do; every time you mess up they tell you how rubbish you are, when you experience rejection they tell you it’s all your fault, when you experience heartbreak they tell you it’s because you are not good enough for love.

How long would it be until you realise this person is no friend at all? How long would it be until you told this person to leave and never come back?

Probably (hopefully) not very long at all. Yet we bash ourselves like like this day in, day out.

I’ve mentioned many times on my blogs & videos already; as humans we are so so hard on ourselves. We criticise, compare and beat ourselves up for the smallest things, when we truly don’t deserve it.

Being kind to yourself is alien to most people, which is a real shame, because you spend 24/7 with yourself, right? every second you are with yourself.

Research is showing self-compassion to be positively linked with our mental health, wellbeing, and better relationships – and you know I am here for that!
